Thanks for the suggestions everyone. thumbup.gif

I'm genuinely torn here!

The 7kg LED profille is tempting and I might get it anyhows (byt WHY is it so heavy?)

Gyro's suggestion of the Showtec Par 16 is intriguing, but it gets a really poor review on Amazon, and I doubt it's bright enough. Be curious to see it in action.

Dave suggestion of using a projector will likely win out. I've got several projectors that are never used, and plenty of media players (that all boot-up into play on power-up), so that gives me a chance to make it bit more dynamic. I'll run it in eco-mode wit the brightness down and cross my fingers about it lasting for a month - 360 hours, with 30 power ups. Should do.

I now have to think about how I rig it to the scaffolding beam up there. On a non-budget. Hm...

The 100W led profile weighs 7kg because the housing is extruded aluminium. I have several 200W 6in1 led zoom profiles that weigh 12kg, but a friend has a 150W RGBW led profile that weights 7kg as it has mainly plastic body. Even that companies 200W RGBW led profiles are 7kg.

Any body know what fittings ikea uses to project onto the floor?

Think it`s Derksen, not at the budget end of architectural

https://www.derksen.de/en/

Looking at the street light version reminds me of when a contractor mounted some on Buchanan Street and taped the gobo to the front with insulation tape.

It didn't matter anyway. As with most architectural follies nobody ever changed the lamp in them when the first one failed.

I have some ADJ Ikon Profile see link https://www.adj.com/ikon-profile I have used these for projecting gobos and also used them for lighting a stage and worked very well.

they have a 30w led and can be controlled via memory or an app using an ir pluged in to the headphones socket

here they are on Thomann https://www.thomann.de/gb/adj_ikon_profile.htm £166 there abouts
