    SM58 ball grills

I've got one Beta58, so will do a check when I have a minute.

    SM58 ball grills

If you hire them out you should be able to add a bit to the price😃

    LED Tape

Funnily enough, while litter-picking our local wood this afternoon I found a perfectly good 8' x 8' Rosco 1/2 silk diffuser (complete with carry-bag), which would have done you nicely🙂.
  4. Iffy filtering on the receivers?
  5. Worth repeating. We all know of cases of lax security, but maybe not something to air on a public forum.
  6. If the ramps are for temporary use it may be worth contacting firms who make aluminium ramps for e.g. loading flightcases onto lorries.
  7. I assume this is for the museum, & for public access, in which case any ramps will need to be DDA compliant.. From memory the steepest slope "allowed" is 1 in 12, minimum width 1.2m, with guard-edges.
  8. Provided each PSU has a diode on its +volts output I don't see a problem (I may of course be missing something🤔). Tecpro do (or did) make a combiner, but not cheap.
  9. I remember stripping out an Electrosonic system in the 1980s. The only problems I can recall were that they were analogue & there weren't enough channels. Replaced with Zero88 dimmers & a Sirius desk.
  10. I just refused to handle phones (& earlier, iPads), other than plugging them into the desk (every dance teacher comes with an assistant/friend who needs something to do).
  11. It's hard to beat the original MultiPlay for this. David is working on a new version, but last time I checked it was still at the Beta stage.
  12. As they share directors with Zero88, & were presumably swallowed up by Eaton & then Philips (now Varilite) at the same time, it might be worth asking the guys from Zero88.
  13. I think these are the ones I'm using (twice the price of the rest, but you get what you pay for) https://www.screwfix.com/p/philips-gu10-led-light-bulb-345lm-3-8w-6-pack/250fh
  14. We've been using Philips LEDs with an old Strand Environ dimmer with no problems. Unfortunately a botched roofing job has just destroyed the Environ, so we've bought an Anytronics CB 4-channel pack. Anytronics (nice people to deal with) are convinced it will cope with an all-LED load, but we haven't installed it yet, so can't give a definite confirmation. E2A: I've been using Philips LED GU10s at home for several years with no failures. I haven't touched the dimmer bottom-set, so they only dim to about 10% - not sure what would happen if I tried to make them dim to zero.
  15. No connection with your problems, but I bought a CR1604-VLZ at one of the BBC auctions some years ago & found one of the VU bar-graphs was dead. I'm not confident enough with SMT to try to fix it, & everything else works fine, so I've learnt to live with it.
  16. The house system uses a desktop, but visitors sometimes arrive with a laptop. Now we've gone USB, feeding the soundcards via a USB switch makes that a doddle.

    Sound schematic

Is this a theoretical exercise (in which case a library may be more use than google) or are you trying to design a real sound system (in which case it's impossible to give an answer without knowing anything about the space)?
  18. That's rather sad. They were still listed last time I looked (obviously longer ago than I though🙁).
  19. If you're looking for "prison grade" why not go for something like Zero88, rather than cheap Chinese.
  20. Think he means connector shields, not cable screens (common problem with Chinese cables)
  21. You won't want the experience I once had of a beltpack slipping out of its pouch & ending up halfway down a pair of tights, hanging by its mic lead.
  22. Back in the day I put a load of 2nd-hand axials into FoH in a local-authority venue, to replace a mix of Sil30s & Strand T-spots. Brighter than the T11/T19 lanterns, but poor lamp life. Then I realised that because the lamp-base pins were aligned vertically, rather than side by side. when the filament sagged there was a 50/50 chance of it sagging towards the support rail & shorting out. Making sure the filament was always below the supports saved a small fortune in new lamps.
  23. When I first signed up to BR in 2014 (after years of lurking) I got the impression that a fully completed profile was a condition of being accepted - apparently not (or at least not these days). Perhaps it should be? Discuss.
