I think PARs are just over 200mm so how about a cheap circular Amazon LED panel? They chuck out an amazing amount of light for the money Or source a sub 200mm (check my measurements) bargain LED par can and either insert it as is, or strip it down

Could you use a side chain compressor between the monitor out and mic? Effectively the mic causes the monitor feed to duck?

If that's your issue then run a coms line into the FOH office with an additional circuit or alarm style buzzer to get them to switch on their station? A battery back up/ups for the coms might be useful. Or have a set of radios for FOH / Backstage emergencies ? At work (non theatre now) we are moving from a phone network to "teams" which involves an ap on mobiles or desktops.But emergency phones will be retained where necessary.

LED lighting in theatres does tend to flicker more than LED lights for film and TVThe colours also tend to look weird to the camera I did a gig at the Brighton Dome a few years ago where the stage preset was a blue and there was a red carpet.Blue lighting always tends to bleed on camera but the red carpet went into a kind of purple acid tripIt looked fine to the eye Once the show got going it was ok as more white light came up but I had a few nervous moments

Hi, A performance artist wants to perform a dance behind a projection screen, with images ("holograms") also appearing on a screen in front. She showed me a Japanese /K-Pop type performance where images are projected and the singer interacts. The space is really small and I first thought of sharks tooth as a projection material, but will the audience be too close? I am guessing 3M might be the closest? Would domestic net curtain type stuff be better given the distances? thanks

just use gaffer tape upside down to join the sheets and also tape normally around the edges. you could use double sided tape but once the floor gets large enough, it tends to stay put down to weight

You can PC stainless but from what I read, it can be tricky. Normally metal is shot blasted to make the PC adhere. Personally I don't think that there is any advantage in stainless for a speaker bracket, even if you are on the end of a pier? Stainless is harder to weld, meaning that you'd need to go back to the builder if something fails? Ok so you might anyway. Balance wise, a mate had a 4x10 trace Elliot cabinet that was a bloody nightmare to carry as it had handles centred on the box, and tipped forwards when carried. I built a FoH rack and calculated the CoG for handle placement so it was easy to carry.

A cable like bike lock would do? At least for the square ones. I can't remember if the round type have a hole in them. Other than that, something like a small dog crate or get someone to weld four bits of rebar to a plate and supply a second plate drilled with four holes to sandwich the stacked weights. If there is a need to run cables (signal or supply) along bars, I tend to alternate along either side of the steel cables that hang the bar, or if it was a handrail on a balcony, I tend to use the uprights in a similar way. That way it's self supporting Is that what you mean?

In the past I have raised wheeled cabs off the floor by using wooden blocks a bit bigger than the castor height. Adding a bit of rubber mat to each side helps.It's easier than carrying a chunk of ply with a 2x2 frame screwed to it
