  1. If you tried that in my neck of the woods I'd shop you myself. The lights are there for a reason and you have ample opportunity to gel your windows or use blinds/blackouts Your actions are selfish and illegal. It seems you haven't even bothered to contact the council to see if they can help
  2. Can't qlab sync the video to the lighting desk?
  3. When they laid our permenant floor they welded it with the above. The tool was like an old fashioned mega soldering/tacking iron. The device had a shoe and store of filler and was run along the gap Actually, thinking about it, a couple of years later someone managed to damage the subfloor and a repair was done where they inserted a couple of square metres in the centre and welded the patchhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DHdeKLbHMLA With yours, I'd have though camouflage was a better bet unless you want the whole lot replaced
  4. A few profiles to create a strong square on the floor? With a small amount of extra light for the talent? You could also possibly hang some led tape inside 4 vertical transparent plastic tubes to make the corners of the cell? Suspend the tubes from the power cable
  5. If building canvas flats then triangles of ply can be used at corners for braces. If single sided ply, or canvas, cheap single handed clamp grips can be used to hold them togetherGetting a few right angles into a set makes a more stable structure (i.e. A chimney breast or bay window) Or even a bit of 2x1 running along the top and screwed into each flat to make them one unit.
  6. There are companies that specialise in old lighting rental- assuming that it's short term
  7. I have to do something similar. I moved from film/theatre to an art dept in a uni and found "asset tiger" which is free. There are expensive items and Amazon £10 ones. There are expensive tracking database systems as well but at a ridiculous cost As most of my stuff is now in an excel spreadsheet, I set up an asset tiger test, you create a "card" for each item, importing from excel.I have only done phantom tests, i.e. "Lending" an item in a virtual sense, but it emails me when an item is overdue. So far I have only relied on random allocated three digit numbers to id equipment but could switch to barcodes As I say, not tried in anger but worth looking at https://www.myassettag.com/assettiger/
  8. Hands up. I can't weld but want to. You can buy gas/no gas MIGs where the wire contains a substance that acts as a shield and some people use pub gas CO2 instead of proper argon type gasI've actually bought a cheapo mig to have a go over the summer but not tried yet
  9. Who designed the stage and what structural qualifications have they got?Google "stage disasters" to see what happens Is outdoor power properly installed?
  10. http://www.midlandairmuseum.co.uk/contact.php any use?

  12. What about simple PET zeppelin bottles (or similar?) to create a waterproof enclosure? If you had the facilities you could vac form two halves or drape mould something by making a wooden former
  13. Rostra ?You could buy something like a mate's school has which is approx 1metre square ply tops each with holes in each corner. The frames are plated steel that are coffee table like in structure and clip together using plastic units side to side and vertically the legs have a taper at the bottom so that they can stack. You could build wooden blocks or buy them if diy creates issues If the audience is on the floor the spots don't need to be too high but may dazzle the kids
  14. Older cardboard mounts tended to be self adhesive and as the glue dried the slides tended to open inside the carousel or projector and jam up the system. Plus the teeth would chip off the carousels and they'd stop
  15. Our spaces all have crown amps into turbosound speakers, on a 7.1 system The turbosound sub is an active box. Presumably they can be hired . You can shove it pretty much anywhereOurs are tea chest sized

    Tilting Speakers

I can read that as a 12 foot HIGH stage? Presumably it's a metre or so. Are the audience seated or stnding? What sort of speakers?
  17. I'd be tempted to send the audio through the vision mixer to retain synch. It's already there. Datavideo used to make an audio delay for the purpose. I presume the delay is due to the mixer and not the CAT6?
  18. Open a known good one and try a meter to see where any differences are?

  20. My local pub landlord built a thatched BBQ in the back garden. It didn't last long
  21. It would help if we had a vague idea how big the mouse is?One assumes not life size, and also not big bird?
  22. I'm not very software literate, but couldn't the lib ray be on open access on a website with the ability to only download specific drivers? I often deal with old motorbikes and there are sites where the original manuals are up for free download. You don't download everything, just the specific year/bike. sorry if that's a daft idea!
  23. I have had something similar and it's something to do with earthing. do you have a video hum eliminator? EDIT just read VGA so no good. As said above, 2 different mains supplies are the issue
