Psychedelic Theatre
My school doesn't have its own space, we use the Town Hall, however the equipment installed in the Town Hall is part owned by the school, and part by a local Am-Dram society based in the Hall. Lighting (In Town Hall): 24 Dimmer channels; 1x Zero88 Betapack II, 2x Strand Act6+, 1x Strand TempusStrand LX 24channel Analogue Desk 5x Patt. 232x Patt. 1236x Furse fresnels (unknown model)6x Quartet Fresnels 4x Quartet Profiles4x Patt. 607x CCT Minuette Flood (Cyclorama)4x Single Unit Coda flood (House light) There are also a few broken Patt. 23s that are generally used for spares. Sound (Owned by the school): Behringer Xenyx 2442FX DeskBehringer Europower 2500 AmpPeavey PV215 Speakers24/4 35m Multicore (Digital Village) Tascam CD/Tape Recorder/Player 6x Beyerdynamic TGX484x AKG C1000S Then there is the student owned stuff that is brought in for various productions: 2x Smoke machines (One owned by me, one by a friend) 4x Strobes (Me)6x Pulsar Fresnels (Me)2x Pulsar 3-channel Dimmer packs (Me)12x Par36 Pinspots (Me) Collection of decent microphones (Owned by a friend) Unfortunately, as is the case with many schools, all of the equipment we own will be lost by the school when we leave. However, there are orders on the way for a smoke machine and a couple of strobes. (Thank goodness for a student tech team that can fundraise, and a music department - we don't have a drama department, so all theatre stuff goes through music - that know and trust us both in and out of school) A lot of the equipment we use is old and not the greatest in the world, but I think we do a damn good job with it, as someone else said, it isn't what you have; it's what you do with it! Just Some Bloke
I go to Newcastle Performance Academy and no, there is 250 dimmable channelWoW! A 250-seat theatre with 250 channels of dimmers is quite something. Having said that, having looked on YouTube at a video of a music performance there (search under "Gay Bar") it really proves the old addage - it's not what you've got it's what you do with it! ;)

Having said that, having looked on YouTube at a video of a music performance there (search under "Gay Bar") it really proves the old addage - it's not what you've got it's what you do with it! That video was actually taken in one of our other venues, the music venue, the tech courses dont do much in there, its the music tech courses that op. those show wouldnt want to be controlling that lot of a 520 though!! ugghhh!! In the music venue, we have a ZERO88 Bull Frog if we need to change for any reason, and in our studio space we have a Strand GSX.

Bobbsy
Moderation: We've had two or three occasions in this topic where people have wondered if an equipment list is actually for a school. Can we request that, particularly if your profile indicates you're older than normal school age or "working in the industry" you make it clear you're talking about either your old alma mater or a school where you happen to work. Hopefully that'll prevent future mis-understandings. Thanks very much!

Psychedelic Theatre
Good stuff, someone else who no doubt finds it stupidly fun to manicly push faders between three cues that really are far too close together!! (A.K.A using a preset desk for most things that are slightly more complicated than An Inspector Calls) Are your tempus racks 5A or 15A? Our one Tempus is on 5A, and everything else is running 15A...makes for fun patching when you can't soft-patch though!
