  1. Theres several midi to DMX convertors available,along with diy ardunio projects .If your dimmer packs take an analogue input the old puslar universal interface might be worth searching for.

  4. All of the main component stockist (RS,cpc,arrow,digikey mouser etc) have them for £1-£2 That part is cheap,what will sting is the cost of p+p on small orders,you could risk looking on ebay,but no guarantee what your buying is what's in the chip

  9. Had a similar fault on a soundcraft 200b,it was down to a 10 ohm resistor,buggered if I can remember were it was in the circuit though

  12. Ah I'd misremembered the regs change in april and thought it covered all generators,however digging into the actual regs it says considering all most all hospitals have a shop or 2 and many treat private patients how can they not be classed as a commercial premises?
  13. nothing unusualt here,back when I breifly worked in the nhs in the 80's each of the gennys would be run up with a full load once a year as part of the general maintenance routine .Of course now we cant be putting red diesel in the tanks those same gennys are going to be much more expensive to run . cynical me reckons its all a con,let the fan and feces collide then at the last minute dont trust will announce shes made an agreement ,it will cost the tax payer £7 billion but the power will be staying on.Dont forget to vote for me for saving christmas

  17. If you can find one,the microsoft intellimouse track ball,as found with many strand 300's,is well worth the search.unlike many of the newer trackballs,the ball is held captive and cant escape every time you knock it
  18. As your a school ask the science department if they have some co2 lying about,added bonus they should know about using the stuff safely.Basically all you need is a container of warm water to slowly drop the solid co2 into,and maybe a fan to direct the fog
  19. Bit small for beams,but for smaller stuff these bungys are great for holding cabling and lightweight stuff up, much quicker to rig and derig than tying bows in para cord

  23. could you modify the headset so the speaker is a loop,assuming there hearing aid is loop compatable
