  1. Not a squeak from mine on O2. I'm obviously on the "Do Not Save" list.
  2. Culinary triumph. Fixed it for ya... Back on topic - shift workers are going to be dead pleased...
  3. EMERGENCY - YOUR ELECTION IS FAVOURING SOMEONE WE DON'T LIKE. TURN OFF YOUR TV AND VOTE FOR US!
  4. Us too; but "compliant in all areas" should be an aspiration for ANY organization.
  5. Yes (if competent etc). The current drawn will be entirely dependent on what lanterns are on at any one time. Don't fall into the trap of "if I have these channels at 50% the lanterns draw 1/2 the current" - it ain't so!
  6. But if the ramp is of any length, as a kindness to wheelchair users, make it shallower if you can! I have a colleague who has quite blunt views on 1:12 ramps...
  7. No "legal" height, there used to be a guidance (2m from memory) - it now all depends on your risk assessment. What many places do is rehearse with railings, teaching the actors where the edge is, perform without. You could add "edge indicators" small LEDs, a raised lip, or whatever.
  8. Please carry discussions on by PM.
  9. I could make a comment on "emergency" being a day when the share price seems to be dipping - but I'd have to moderate myself.
  10. Govt announce more propping up of energy companies profits. Under the scheme, revealed by the Department for Business, Energy and Industry, wholesale prices are expected to be fixed for all non-domestic energy customers at £211 per MWh for electricity and £75 per MWh for gas for six months. 11. This is what I have. Not as tidy as I remembered it but yours if you want it. It used to be a powered monitor.
  12. I might have something - and it really is in the something category. I'll have a look after lunch.
  13. Copyright maybe. A bit like how it is illegal to publish night photos of the Eiffel Tower. The "image" of the tower is long out of copyright, but the lighting design isn't. That said, it is an audience-hostile thing to do. "Shut up plebs and clap when we tell you to, and vote for whatever sh** song is most politically correct."
  14. Not according to our facilities manager. He came on board after our large hall was refurbished. He hates the pellet boilers with a passion. I don't know why but he does.
  15. When I say "get a wheelchair up to it" wot I MEANT was, wheel a chair close enough to get user comfortable. ie drop the height, but still get his knees under the lectern top.
  16. Ohhh... I'm looking for similar, but perhaps not quite like that. I need to get a wheelchair up to it.
  17. You need a source and a specifically designed amp or decoder and amps for the 5.1 stream. Lots of amps around, but not cheap. Then consider - you set the thing up so that sitting in the middle of the room it sounds great. However, most of the audience are not sitting in that sweet spot. Don't expect miracles.
  18. They are wooden. However, some nylon might make a suitable replacement, but without the oil and grease!
  19. It really depends on the exit locations and signs. Local venue with a central battery system has an exit hard up against the pros line. The signs at full brightness trash any blackout. Thus the auditorium gangway and exit signs are fed via a large resistor to knock back the brightness in normal circumstances. This is bypassed in the event of a power cut by a suitable contactor/relay arrangement. There is a second contactor controlled by a dead-man's switch that blacks the auditorium out; as others say, it is seldom used. Panto UV scenes are the only time I can recall it being used regularly. This has all been in place for nearly 40 years and insurers / fire brigade have never queried it.
  20. If you want real quality, Canford Audio would be worth a look.
  21. And as such, with several reports to the Mods, it is closed.
  22. They must be messing around with it. That now works for me.
  23. Not that problem, but they don't seem to have ANY enclosures...
  24. I were there. Getting stoned on passive smoke, and blown away by the gig.
