  1. I had an hour or so with the head of trauma from my local A & E on a Bikesafe day. He was very clear "Keep them alive until we get there, however you have to do it. We can do nothing if you don't because of a perceived risk of using a tourniquet. "
  2. Would this be viable, more likely than sealing all those moving parts? Moving head dome
  3. Do you really want your ad to look like this? I'm not picking on any one in particular, but many posts in this forum start looking like this:- I don't have time to sort them all out. Please don't cut & paste from Word* without checking what is actually going on! *Or any other word processors There is a handy "Preview Post" button next to the "Post New Topic" button - please use it.
  4. Ours isn't ornate, just a quarter round "cornice" about 18" radius. It is indeed held up with bits of twisted wire. I'm one of the very few people to have seen it up close, and I've no clue as to whether it is safe.
  5. The first thing I thought was that our old theatre licence, based on the Westminster Council model, required an annual inspection of the ceiling. But with the changes to licencing a few years back, does anyone enforce this sort of inspection... unless something goes wrong?
  6. Of all the scary things I've read here, this really is up here with the worst! I'm pinning it so keep it in front of our eyes; please take heed!
  7. It may even have been this thread that I was referring too. I hadn't spotted that it was an old one that I was replying to. All down to the loss of "new post awareness" with the forum upgrade.
  8. We've been here before. From memory the burning of brake cleaner was reported to produce carcinogens. Can anyone remember/find the thread/confirm?
  9. HAH!! You haven't met the numb-nutz that I work with! They had managed to mate the incorrect remote control cable into the back of our LX desk. They were surprised when I was unimpressed...
  10. Very fancy, very new detectors should be able to discriminate between "smoke" and smoke. This is because "smoke" isn't. The new ones have 4 detectors in each head, measuring "rate of heat rise", Carbon Monoxide, scatter and CO2 (from memory) whereas "smoke" is a glycol mist, hence no CO, CO2 or heat involve. BUT!! These are VERY new. Further, seeing how we have done this to death in the past, I'm locking it for now. If someone wants to find a previous thread, I'll merge them.
