China Gouhangzou Flooding

Has anyone heard if this affects the supply of IC chips, and knowing that most Branded, and un branded lighting comes from this area, is there any news from China suppliers??

Hey Richard,

Eeverything is fine. Guangzhou is not flooding. It's shenzhen that's flooding. But even that, don't worry about the safety of factories. Factories or logistic stops ususally set up their storage location in a higher land. 

For example, I am working in a stage lighting equipment factory in guangzhou baiyun and our production lines are functioning everyday.

So nothing to worry about.

I think it's our poor geography Guanzhou is not flooding but quanzhou was with the typhoon, 700km away! - I must admit I thought they were different spellings of the same place. Oops

** laughs out loud **, I am not surprised. Chinese pin yin can be very difficult and confusing at the same time.

The same pinyin with can be a lot of things and with different tones, even more.

but you guys are right. It's flooding in Quan zhou.

It was He Bei in August in the north and now in the south😅 it's not a peaceful year....

Don't worry, the English can't even handle simple Welsh place names and they moved to live next door to us about 1500 years ago.

It appears there's a lot of villages called "Gwasanaeth" in Wales, just near the M4

You'll also see lots of signs on the M4 saying "Caution Gofal" - I still haven't seen a Gofal, but presume it is a scary creature of some form.
