Am I right in thinking that the Galaxy Nova was actually the 4th iteration of Galaxy (and the first / last version to be finished in grey, its predecessors being beige)>

I have a memory that most of Strand's stands from the mid 80s onwards were actually made by Manfrotto so that may help the hunt for spares. Alternatively do you have a tame blacksmith? It appears that the leg is basically a bit of box with some shaping and a strategic hole for the axle. Glyn

Find a couple of options within budget and then get some for a demo. Shoot them out, both between the replacement options and with your existing cantatas. Possibly even invite the money people along to see the difference for themselves.

Just to return to this, we hired a system for last season, partly for budget reasons and partly for supply issues (chip shortage, but mostly money people not signing off until too late). Subsequently we've opted for the Leon Audio / Interspace offering and managed to acquire a second hand system. It was very close between this and the ETC / GDS, but for us, the use of XLR3 won out over the Cat5/ Ethercon cabling. Thank you for all the suggestions etc. Glyn
