Hi @Oscah Firstly, make sure that the console isn't on really old software. Send us an email to support@zero88.com, and we'll be able to help with this. Create a list of all your fixture's modes and addresses, and then make sure these match the patch on the console. Make sure that you do indeed have the correct fixture model patched for your movers. When you say "Lamp", do you simply mean control over the intensity, or are you referring to being able to strike/dowse the lamps? If you temporarily stick one of the working LED PARs on this DMX receiver, can you control it? If so, this proves data is getting there.

Hi @Cctheatre As part of the battery replacement process you will need to reset the console. So make sure you have saved a copy of the show file prior to replacing the battery.

FLX uses Art-Net 4, which will be the same as DMX Workshop. So if neither DMX Workshop nor FLX detected the device, there's something about its Art-Net implementation which isn't compliant with Art-Net 4.

When you say the LED Pixel Driver was recognised, was it detected and displayed as a device, or did it simply respond to Art-Net data? If it received Art-Net data, this suggests the Art-Net data is being broadcasted.

It is probably worth mentioning that to get the most out of Wireshark, ensure the PC running Wireshark is connected to a port of a managed switch, with the port set to "mirror" mode. This ensures ALL of the Ethernet Switch's data is sent to the Wireshark PC. If Wireshark is simply connected to a port of an unmanaged Ethernet Switch, only broadcast data on the network, or unicast data sent directly to the laptop, will be received by Wireshark. You'd therefore miss all of the unicast data being sent between other devices on the network.

I am guessing that the LED Pixel driver does not appear in Setup > Devices on FLX? If so, this confirms FLX is not receiving an ArtPollReply from the driver. If you can "see" the device in its configuration utility, the device must be using some other non-Art-Net form of discovery. Great - glad you'll be able to workaround the issue.

Hi @pumphouse This will probably be the issue. FLX will only send ArtDmx to Art-Net devices that subscribe/request an Art-Net universe. If they don't ask for an Art-Net universe, they won't be sent one. FLX does not have an option to force Art-Net to be broadcasted. Art-Net 4 controllers unicast ArtDmx to Art-Net devices that subscribe to a universe. ArtDmx can only be broadcasted if more than 40 devices subscribe to a single universe.

To confirm, yes, fixtures can be parked on FLX consoles. You can also configure a fixture to be at a certain intensity value by default, which is a slightly different approach.

On FLX and FLX S, it is possible to essentially create your own Grand Master & Blackout. To do this you would set all the fixtures you'd like to be affected by your GM/DBO to full, and record that to the playback fader you'd like to use as your GM/DBO. You can then configure that playback to be "Inhibit", and it will now act as a Grand Master just for the fixtures you chose, leaving other fixtures untouched.

I think this is a really valid point. Before you can even think about touching a lighting console, the rig needs to be working. Powered, data cabled, and addressed. If the rig isn't working, this is a huge learning curve for those that are not in the industry. "DMX", "Personalities", "Start Address", "DMX Splitter", "Universe" are all just jargon. This is the exact problem we try to solve with RigSync. However, in most cases, the fixtures are sadly not RDM, and so this all falls down... https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/setup/universes/remote-device-management The aim of FLX series consoles is that they are as intuitive as possible, without limiting advanced "industry" users. There are some consoles solely aimed at non-industry operators, some aimed at industry professionals, and then FLX which is definitely designed as a "hybrid". If there were particular workflows you found hard to get your head around, I'd love to know - perhaps we can make some changes. However, what never ceases to amaze me, is the speed at which students pick up and learn FLX. I was running console training only the other week at a school, and before I had finished explaining what the different faders and buttons are for, a couple of students that had never touched the console were controlling lights, and recording them onto playback faders. Anyone under 20 - 25 seems to just "get" FLX. Why? Good question. Growing up with an operating system in your hand (smartphone/tablet) is definitely going to help, but I also wonder whether an element is that they have never heard the term "fader per channel". If you don't know this philosophy, why would you expect a single light to have several faders to control it? Working left to right, they see the fourth light, raise the fourth fader on FLX, it comes on, tap blue on the touchscreen, and that light is now blue. Happy days. This is a real issue, and something we see regularly from a support point of view. There never seems to be any handover when the designated school technician leaves. This is where from our point of view online training works well. The teacher who wishes (or has to!) pick up the reins can join an online session on their tablet, sit in front of the console, and work through some examples with their lighting rig. I hope this hasn't come across as me ramming FLX down your throats. I'm not a sales guy so had no intention to! Just my personal outlook on the topic.

Hi @Tim Armitage Firstly, can you confirm whether this is a Leap Frog running FrogOS, or a Leapfrog running ZerOS? If the console has 12 submaster faders it is the original FrogOS-based console, whereas if it has 10 submaster faders it is the ZerOS-based console. If this is a ZerOS console, please could you confirm the current software version? To find this please click the “Other Windows” button, found top-left of the Output Window. From the dropdown choose System Info. In the window that opens will be a line of text displaying the “Software Version”. Feel free to email support@zero88.com for quicker support.

You'll also see lots of signs on the M4 saying "Caution Gofal" - I still haven't seen a Gofal, but presume it is a scary creature of some form.

Do all submasters behave the same, with only the flash buttons working?

Hi Tom, If you have patched fixtures onto the Fixture MFKs (Multi-Functional Keys) on the right-hand side of the console, their intensity can be controlled by clicking FIXTURES, selecting them using the fixure's MFK, and then using the Brightness encoder wheel. If you wish to, you can program the fixture's intensities onto Submaster faders. To do this, go into PROGRAM mode, set your fixtures to the required levels, tap a Submaster flash button, and tap PROGRAM. After some digging, we have found the following known Q Commander reset codes: 8096 8080 5426 3336 6333 The currently installed firmware version will affect which of these codes works. Replacing the battery does not clear the code. Edward

Hi @CodeAV FLX S24 consoles can have a single "item" on a playback at one time. So the playback could be a chase, a cue stack, a submaster, or an effect. If you have recorded a chase on a playback, by default the playback's button will be a "Tap Tempo", allowing you to update the speed of the chase on-the-fly. On FLX S24, you can record a maximum of 10,000 cues across all playbacks in the console. A "step" of a chase is also referred to as a cue.
