Flushing a cheap smoke machine?

someone's given me a (£25?) smoke machine from ebay. They bought it, used it a few times and bunged it under their bed.Not used for several years

I will PAT it and have fired it up- there is a tiny amount of fluid left.It has the iec type remote and also the iec wireless remote but not the handset

Is it advisable to flush it through with "something". Or just but some more fluid and leave it to heat up and blast a bit through?I was going to give it to a mate to use with his band

If it has a remote, than it will have a non standard connector usage somewhere could be an IEC outlet wired live to the earth pin, could be a XLR3 wired with mains live on a pin.

A water or vinegar/descaler flush followed by a water rinse would be good. Entertainment with smoke machines do now tend to trigger the fire alarm/detector in venues, it's 20 years since a DJ friend had three weddings and hundreds of dinner guests on the road while firemen "extinguished" his smoke machine.

Sell it to some one to fumigate venues if they can find the fluid!

Fortunately I had (with permission from my fire officer and h&s person) the fire detectors switched at the board to be Heat only in daytime and smoke 10am-10 pmBecause we do occasionally make smoke plus a fair bit of dust from time to time and aren't a "venue" . It was £350 a visit to switch on/off and everyone was ok with it.
