timmiddleton
hi just interested to know where people get their mic cables from - do you make your own or buy premade? and also what brand connectors and cable? tim
Gilly
I get cable from VDC, and connectors from CPC. Connectors have got to be Neutrik, and I'm a big fan of Van Damme cable.
bruce
Personal - Neutrik connectotrs and decent quality generic cable (usually CPC etc) Work - buy them made-up (Neutrik and VanDamme) from VDC Bruce.
paulears
neutrik IDC and musiflex (used to get it from cpc, but they don't do it any more), other than that canford hst and ordinary neutriks
slim_mcslim
I would like to add a vote for the amphenol connectors, I prefer them to the neutrik ones, they have larger solder buckets, seem more heat proof in the plastic, allowing you to reuse them a few times, and have a much better "alligator" cable grip... have lots of different types of mic cable, proel was one of the best, my current favourite is the dap audio - musiflex copy, seems as flexible as musiflex, but is about half the price... paul... Andrew C
Add a vote for Deltron connectors (CPC). Not much in it, a tad cheaper, and have a metal backshell. Oh, and HST from Canford.
Joshwah
All my cables use van damme cable and nuetrik connectors however ive also got a load of them made with canford hst which is also great!
Chris L
I made up my own with a lowish budget in mind and found some Neutrik solderless connectors. They seem to be fine when used with thicker cable and I have no problem re-using them. To me they seem a good idea. Chris

Mr.Si
Try this: http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog...one_Cables.html<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aaaaarrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :) Mic cables should not be packaged like this! they get set in their way and then can not be coiled, they just have kinks every foot... can you tell I'm cross? charlyfarly
Didn't mean to give you nightmares! With some cables if you heat them up with a hair-dryer it sometimes makes them pliable enough to lose the 'memory'.
