What about Burnshield burn blots?

https://www.sja.org.uk/first-aid-supplies/first-aid-supplies-and-consumables/first-aid-dressings-and-pads/dressings/Pack-of-10-3.5ml-Burnshield-Blott-Sachets/

Last time first aid was mentioned, was a dislike for these, but not sure why?

Found them effective on soldering iron burns.

The funny thing is the FAAW I've just done We discussed burnaid, burnshield etc but we were told iced water is much more effective. Course provided by SJA ☺️

My son in law is ex fire brigade and they will always use a product over cold water. I've never used anything like these so can't compare.

We don't use anything apart from cling film and tap water now. Gel just distracts people from standing at the sink / shower for 20 mins. Nothing as good as running tepid water to cool that burn, and sheets of cling film to keep the skin moist and provide a protective layer.

So in my experience it's actually not that rare. From what you say it seems I've been unlucky to encounter more than my share.

Most of this reply was written much earlier, about 5pm today I cut my hand and attended hospital for stitches. While there I asked one of the nurses attending to me how many anaplalaxis cases a day arrive in A&E, "A couple a day, in this weather usually more. There's one just come in."

There is a huge difference between anaphalaxis and an allergic reaction. Many get labelled the same. My betting is they haven't seen one proper one this month.
