handyman
Just curious as to what is the best way to cut flight case foam professionally. I have used a sharp stanley knife to cut them before but it's difficult to gert that professional looking straight and clean cut. There are some references to using an electrical hot wire cutter (used for styrofoam) but Im not sure if it would cut flight case foam. The other suggestion was to use a turkey carver. Anyone have first hand experience?

handyman
A Foam Rubber Cutter of course... Thanks Brian, quite expensive. I'm guessing the hot wire cutters wont cut it [no pun intended] as heat alone is not sufficient.

xllx
The other suggestion was to use a turkey carver. Anyone have first hand experience? I do remember the salesman from a well known flightcase company doing some adjustments to the foam on a batch of new cases in our warehouse with an electric carving knife. Seemed to make a pretty decent job of it.
boatman
A bread knife works quite well. Not as good as the right tool but a lot cheaper.

Andrew C
I want an excuse to buy one of these:- No idea how it would cut foam, but it would freak our H&S drone out completely. :unsure:http://www.ffx.co.uk/Content/images/tools/Festool_769212.jpg
