peternewman
I'm looking for some cable tray/basket but not having much luck so far, only RS seem to sell it from the normal places I'd check (CPC, Screwfix, TLC, Farnell, Canford, eBay), so I don't know if I'm sticking the wrong search term in or something. The RS link is here, or picture below. Surely this should be more widely available than it appears to be? Chris @ CPC? Also RS insist on selling it as a four pack, when the most I need is two 3m lengths. I've also found this company who sell some as well, but I think delivery may be high for them. http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/images/R249444-01.jpg So am I using the wrong terms? Where do your source yours from? I appreciate most people probably want a few hundred pieces to do an entire building, not just a few pieces. Genus
Although I've never used this product, I have seen places use cable trays made out of drainpipes or something similar. Surely that would be a lot cheaper?
niclights
Local electrical wholesale?
jonathanhill
Try your local WF or Edmundson.
The Yellow Transit
The tray is made by Mita most electrical wholesalers will be able to get it for you. But Mita isn`t cheap so there may be another manufactuer which will do the job. If you dont have an account most will accept cash although you may have to pay up front and pay more for it
boswell
Denmans stock it, go to your local branch
Bryson
Electrical wholesaler. I guess it's not the type of thing that "consumers", even "semi-pro" ones, use.
danjshelton
As others have said your local electrical wholesaler will stock this (or be able to source it for you). If you don't have a favourite one already then have a drive around your local industrial estate, within 5 Minutes of our warehouse there is 4 off the top of my head, sure there are probably more. Try having a look for CEF (City Electrical Factors), Edmundson's or Newey & Eyre's (In no particular order and others are available, just the first nationwide one's that came to mind). Bobbsy
Yup. Electrical (as opposed to electronic) wholesalers are what you need. We used to use City Electrical Factors but I'm sure there are lots of others. Bob
revbobuk
The thing to google for is 'cable management' - and there are loads of specialist sites, like Cable Management Warehouse who have this and other useful products.

drsound
If you are a non-account holder then CEF usually do the best discount. Expect to get up to 90% off list if you ask nicely. Newey's and Eddie's are very good suppliers but the big discounts only come with a trade account which isn't easy to get. WFs fall in between these two camps but depending on where in the country you need them they can be few and far between.
Chris Beesley
Just to confirm - we dont carry anything like this. City/Denmans/Newey etc are your best try
jimbo7744
Hi Peter, CEF do both Basket: http://www.cefonline.co.uk/catalogue/secti...ray_zinc_platedand tray: http://www.cefonline.co.uk/catalogue/secti...teel_cable_tray Also if it is tray you want then TLC Direct do it: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Cable_Tray/index.html and QVS: http://www.qvsdirect.com/_search.php?page=1&q=cable+tray But if you only need 2 pieces and have suitable transport to accommodate 3m lengths, then any of these suppliers should give you a good discount along with wall spacers/unistrut, threaded rod etc or as suggested your small electrical wholesalers should be able to help you and if their local to site then walk it there with two of you and save on the delivery!
