Well interestingly a Chamsys instance running on a laptop DID recognise the driver as an Art-Net node, but the FLX didn't.

When you say the LED Pixel Driver was recognised, was it detected and displayed as a device, or did it simply respond to Art-Net data? If it received Art-Net data, this suggests the Art-Net data is being broadcasted.

Luminex give away their luminet monitoring software, I find it much easier to use than wireshark for artnet problem solving. Works on pc and Mac, fantastic bit of software that does the job

Cheers for the heads up. Downloaded out of curiosity as not really spent time having to admin Luminex things. Seemed to do stuff and find ArtNet devices OK but didn't get if it dealt with sACN too.

For me, Wireshark is a friendly GUI with lots of features and a more accessible solution than TCPDump. I guess the deal with the more specialised tools is that they subscribe to whatever is relevant and give a 'OK' or 'Not OK' kinda of clarity.

It detected it and displayed it as a device.  @gafferted tried this out briefly when I wasn't there.  He didn't get as far as actually getting it to drive the LED tape but I think that may have been an Art-Net universe numbering issue and time hasn't permitted us to re-visit it yet.

Interesting that Chamsys saw it and FLX didn't though.

FLX uses Art-Net 4, which will be the same as DMX Workshop. So if neither DMX Workshop nor FLX detected the device, there's something about its Art-Net implementation which isn't compliant with Art-Net 4.
