Tom
What are your preffered trigger clamp for rigging standard conventional units (Source 4's and the like) from truss. Something that would also allow for out rigging things like pars from scaff booms would be good.Trying to find the balance between "cheap" and "works".ThanksT
timmeh2
Hi I've always felt that open-faced clamps should only be used for things mounted directly under the bar. For everything else, including over and side-rigging, you should use half-couplers. All the bestTimmeh
Brian
...open-faced clamps should only be used for things mounted directly under the bar. Doughty specifically say that normal hookclamps should only be used with the load vertically under the bar.
Don Allen
I have gone from open hook clamps to CLAMPT50 for overhanging lightweight fixtures and to replace trigger clamps as the wing bolt would sometimes catch.
Tom
Thanks Don - that's the sort of thing I'm after - but with a UK supplier. There are several different versions of trigger calmps on the market so I'm looking for suggestions of people's favoured model and supplier. I should have been clearer - by putting "hook clamp" in quotes I had hoped to indicate that I was looking for an alternative since they are not designed to do either of the things I want to do.( I shall edit the question for future clarity).ThanksT
niclights
I recommend AC. Something like this for under-hang. As others have said half couplers for other orientations.
