Eeen
Hi All, I thought id ask if theres any basic movers LED for installing to a local church for the legacy programme, for basic wash/spots for piano recitals and other things that happen... I think it needs to be something that doesn't have too many bells and whistles, fairly simple, like a Mac250 entourage but as a LED. what have you used or can recommend... for the cheapest/mid and expensive range you can think of... GO.....
pscandrett
I've been quite impressed with the R2 wash by Chauvet. They're generally fairly reliable, give a pretty even colour across their output and have a reasonable zoom. They're not silent, but they're not particularly noisy either. Price wise, they're mid-range. Moving spot wise - well, there's quite a few out there but nothing stands out to me in the same mid price range. Others might have more experience with a wider range of fixtures to be able to recommend something. Your post is a bit vague, but I hope this helps. paulears
The one thing about my fairly large LED upgrade for my theatre that I'm not sure would be good for church is that silence is a thing of the past. The fan noise can be quite a jolt to the noise floor of the venue. Even worse is the way various models implement how the fans work - some of mine are silent until they light up, and then suddenly the fans switch on and it gets instantly louder. Others purr away all the time, and some give you manual control that gets overridden when they get hot. At the end of the night it's quiet, but as that last breaker gets clicked off and real silence steps in you really can hear it. I've often wondered how churches manage this when they have selected kit in terms of cost and features?
Eeen
I plan to put them quite high up on a beam, which is why LED's that can be switched on/off regularly would make a difference, I was thinking the Chauvet's or ADJ's (never used them)... but along the lines of an R2 would be good. strand600X
We have the Robe 150 led beams.Great lights and fantastic zoom.Would highly recommend them bAZ
Eeen
Thanks bAZ, ill look at them as well, I would like movers but as time passes and the Priest/staff change Maybe LED pars would suffice... and they might work out more cost effective for 6/8 LED Pars over 2/4 LED movers. just keen to see what people have played with/like/dislike thoughts and all that. as they say in school "theres no wrong answer"... or something like that! ThanksIan
timsabre
The Robe 150s as suggested above are great lights but you're paying a lot extra for being able to move them. Only you know how you'll use them but you could buy a lot more fixed pars for the same money.

paulears
There are plenty of wrong answers - loads of people invested in movers only to find them too hard for people to use, and they just sit there and don't get programmed for years - often until they die. mark_h
How will these be controlled? If there is not a simple system then they are unlikely to be used to their full potential or at all.
Junior8
Use conventionals - this kind of performance invariably ends up in the same place with the same requirement every time.Keep it simple keep it cheap.
