benjie500
Hi Does anyone know how we can achieve this snow effect show in the video, "Drag Queen performs Frozen - Let it Go", from 32 seconds?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgOFvFGRQ2Q Preferably with nothing left on the stage to tidy up or create a hazard. Any help appreciated.
Dave m
Are you basically asking what the guy in white is ussing? The charm/ gimmick of the act is that there is a bloke there. If the drag artist had a device hidden, it would look crap. You can get "smoke in a can"
Jivemaster
That isn't an ordinary "Bloke", he's a good dancer too. There is an aerosol called Magican which is a haze ish sort of fluid in an aerosol, but I think the effect in the vid is spray snow as for spraying snow on windows. ImagineerTom
...actually you can get aerosol can snow (like snow machine snow) but it's not cheep stuff. You can also get miniature, body-worn snow machines from all good effect's houses //cough// I co-invented //cough// but just one of them will cost more than your entire production budget. I agree with the others - what makes this video clip work is the skill of the DANCER stood behind doing the spraying. If you want a princes spraying snow around you've either got to go ultra low-budget comic and innovative like they have here, or allocate a few thousand pounds on getting the proper kit in to do it, allocate several days specifically for training the performer and choreographing the snow elements so that it looks half decent. benjie500
Thanks for the replies guys. I was aware of the guy in white spraying. Maybe I should have phrased my questions better, what is the guy in white spraying. ** laughs out loud **
MrBoomal
I'm amazed that Disney's gave them the rights to show that "Frozen" clip.
ImagineerTom
As others said he's spraying can'd smoke. As I said you can also get canned snow.

bigclive
Yeah, it looks like the canned fog effect. I don't think the ice queen would be too thrilled to get sprayed with clingy window-snow. Especially in the bit where she comes downstairs and gets a facefull. The blizzard-in-a-can type foam snow is quite hard to find. They used to do a version where the cap latched down and just emptied the contents into the air. (Simple surfactant/soap based foam.)
