david.elsbury
Teach your singer mic technique and get them to pull back a bit in the loud bits? :)
pete10uk
If you unscrews the mic grill ( I think it 's in 2 parts, you only need to take the top half off) and make sure the 0db / -10db switch is in the -10db position, that may dive you a bit more. Shez
no matter how low the imput gain it still peaks well into the red when soloedCould you elaborate on this a little? What peaks? Is it the radio mic system (generally indicated by a peak light on the receiver) or is the desk?
morristech
Does the signal go into the red on the Beyer receiver as well as the desk? I'm not too familiar with this receiver, as far as I can tell it doesn't have a headphone output, but if it does try plugging your headphones into that and see if it distorts there? If not, here's what I would try, in this order...Ensure channel input on the desk is set to line level rather than mic level (and gain all the way down)Test with a different channel on the deskAttenuate the output from the receiver (if possible)If not possible, try attenuating between the receiver and mixing desk with an in-line attenuator or DI boxAndy
