lightingyoung
Hi all, Don't normally ask these types of questions, but was watching this programme tonight and during JLS there were 4 movers at the back which I was really impressed with. Does any know if they where the new Sharpy? the lighting is supplied by PRG if that helps anyway. Cheers
Joe Bleasdale
Have you got a link to the performance? Thanks.
lightingyoung
At the moment I cant find a link, as it has only just happened and it was live, I will keep looking though
mac500
Yep they were Clay Paky Sharpy's. I assume that they were from Richard Martin Lighting.
Kevin@Wicked
Richard Martin Lighting, Hawthorns and Vortex Lighting all have hire stock of the Sharpy's. I have had the pleasure of using 8 of them on a job in York a few weeks ago

Ali2580
I have had the pleasure of using 8 of them on a job in York a few weeks ago Just out of curiosity here and slightly off topic - what were your thoughts on them? http://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
Smiffy
Fast, Very Bright, Small, Good effect. Bit jittery at slow speeds.
lightingyoung
Looked very bright against VL3000, very quick, nice selection of gobos, tiny and used well for aerial effects,
JDLX
Bear in mind though that these fixtures may cause issues in smaller venues, as I believe the minimum throw distance is 12m (yes metres!) to surface.
Simon_Baker
I was a bit worried about the 12m rule, but watch the performance again on iPlayer, the sharpys point directly at the floor for quite a lot of the performance. No one died.
Smiffy
I believe the minimum throw distance is 12m That has to be marketing getting over enthusiastic surely.
niclights
I think it is marked on the unit. There's certainly heat if you put your hand in the beam but really...
RumbleO
I saw the show and thought they were Sharpys, but then doubted it when I saw the gobos. I don't recall the beams being that wide at PLASA. CP are doing a Promo Tour. Clay-Paky UK NewProduct Tour. Anyone else going next Wednesday to the Albert Hall? Bryson
Bear in mind though that these fixtures may cause issues in smaller venues, as I believe the minimum throw distance is 12m (yes metres!) to surface. I imagine if that figure is in any way justified, then the military will be buying these by the crateload. ;) I just went to the CP site to take a look and man, it is paaaiiiinnnnffffuuuullll. New server required? And then, the video wastes valuable time with fancy text animation. I've been on the site 10 minutes and I haven't seen the unit working yet. About to give up.... Finally, a light - only 40 seconds into the video. Grr.
