kerry davies Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 This might be knobbled by the mods for being political, but then what isn't? The senior partners in the coalition government have found a way to minimise the costs of education and reinforce their supporters illegal breaches of the NMW regs; The Mail on Sunday "...reported that at a recent fundraising ball the Conservatives oversaw the auctioning of internships at hedge funds and other financial institutions, at £3,000 a pop, for the children of rich donors. Privileged teenagers are being given yet another career-enhancing leg-up at a private event to raise money for the party, which then goes out and tells us we're all in the same boat." Jackie Ashley, in todays' Guardian. Would any of those who voted last year to support internships in theatre, the arts and media care to comment on this?
tomo2607 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Im sorry but this is just rediculous. I guess the lesson learnt from this election was to stick with the devil you know. The entertianment industry is taking a big blow, as well as this the talk over droping music and drama from the school curriculum is also going to have a larger impact on the future technicians and budding stars of tomorrow.
DrummerJonny Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 ...And slowly those who though our Student Marches were silly and childish start to join us on the streets... Cuts are needed, nobody can deny that. But the government cannot excuse turning their back on promises they made to get themselves elected.
tomo2607 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 its not just the students that are under threat. Its the whole "working class".
