Bazz339
I need to get an MP3 player for testing systems etc., as it may be left unattended on desks etc. I don't want to spend too much but need good quality. If possible I would like one that can replay WAV files so I could have a few higher quality albums for more critical testing and with usb charging. Any suggestions please? timsabre
I think this http://www.blue-room.org.uk/index.php?showtopic=44735 is the thread he means, but I have to agree the search function on this forum is not that great - it would be a lot more useful if it returned results in date order, newest first, does anyone know how you do that? Bazz339
tascam SSR,not 100% on model right now, we have on in our FOH rack, very reliable! Sorry, I have not been specific enough. I want a portable, USB rechargeable unit with good sound quality, not too expensive, for testing lines and systems I am probably going to end up with an iPod aren't I? although I would like recommendations/experience of other brands e.g. Archos, Sony etc.

MarkPAman
Would one of the Zoom recorders do the job for you?Z1 is under £80, and has USB charging I think.
boatman
I used one of these to provide interval music for the folk festival. It plays both MP3 and WAV. http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B001UE6LWG.01.MZZZZZZZ.jpg Edited to fix link.
johndenim
I'm also looking for similar, but rack mounted, all bells and whistles not required. ATM during karaoke parties, I record punters on minidisc, and a quick playback as they return to their seat.People have been asking if they can buy the recordings, but I don't have the time to go through sonic stage and email. A bluetooth function would be handy, as I could send direct to phones etc.Any ideas please?Sorry for hijacking your thread Bazz.
david.elsbury
Do you have the appropriate licenses to record and distribute the tracks you are using, John?
johndenim
No.I'm not recording the whole song. Why? Is this an issue?
paulears
I suspect the point being that most karaoke tracks specifically prohibit this being done, so the service could wel drop you in it? Unlikely, but we cold never condone copyright infringement of any kind, could we?
johndenim
So if someone records their loved one on a mobile phone, they are breaking the law?
david.elsbury
Probably, but by selling it, you'd be breaking the law more :)
