Thirdtap
'loLooking to install some wall mounted dimmers. The wall is a plasterboard wall cavity wall, one sheet of plasterboard air gap then another plasterboard about 15cm wide I think. The question is in your experience / opinion would this be suitable for just plasterboard raw plugs or do I need to bolt through both sheets of plasterboards? The dimmers are going to be mounted around waist height or lower and should be very static with little or no repatching. Andrew C
There are screw in anchor thingys for plasterboard that are very good, but I think I'd try to spread the load. You could consider fixing some 18mm MDF / Ply with many fixings, then mount your rack to that. You could even coat the back of the ply liberally with gripfill. Brian
Screw a piece of 18mm MDF to the studs and fix the dimmers to that.
