rossmck
AC Special Projects are definitely worth a look - I don't work for them, but have worked in two venues that they've fitted out and know the owners of one (school venue) quite well. Can't fault the design of the facilities they provided or the actual install itself. They also fitted an ETC Unison architectural control system which allows basic use of the rig (and scrollers) for small recitals/concert use etc without requiring an LX operator at the desk (the DMX from the desk overrides this for larger events of course) The people responsible for the install had nothing but good things to say about AC and their installation team either which is always good, wouldn't hesitate to use them for an install myself although it's always worth getting a few quotes (White Light might be another one worth considering down there?) david.elsbury
From the fact that the OP mentions the words "LEA" and "county" would this not suggest the possiblity he is in the USA? Perhaps he should clarify this (and fill out his profile ) before anyone else suggests UK based companies?
paulears
Local Education Authority and "company in the south of England" might suggest UK based? I'd have thought. I must admit I'd have thought a company specialising in used lighting would be perhaps a little out of place - schools normally want brand new kit with full warranty and backup service, rather than second hand stuff that makes choice and selection tricky. If you want a few more units than those currently in stock, you can't ask the manufacturer to send more!
david.elsbury
Ha.... sorry- I must have missed the "South of England" bit (still reckon the OP should fill his profile out though ;) )

Little-leigh
There is a specialist design and installation company in Tonbridge Kent called 'Lighting Logic'. They are very good and do a lot of school work as well as the normal theatre and studio installation work. They have all the neccesary NIC certs etc and are a nice bunch of folk to deal with. Hope that helps.
