Bryson
I need to replace some broken XLR3 connectors on our snake box. They look like Neutrik D series, but made of black plastic, and the females are without a locking latch. No other identifying info that I can see. Any idea if they're a Neutrik product I've missed, or another manufacturer entirely?
david.elsbury
Don't Whirlwind do those? And in red as well?
Rob_Beech
They are Neutrik ones, I'm not sure of their model number but they're cheap as chips from CPC, I bought a set to do one of my 32 channel splitters. under £1 a piece. CPC may be the easiest place to look.
david.elsbury
Was plastic a requirement, or just the non-latching?
Bryson
I guess I could use metal, but then they won't match the rest.... Yes, I care about such things.

Bobbsy
I guess I could use metal, but then they won't match the rest.... Yes, I care about such things. Actually I'm sure Bryson will have thought of this but have a look at the earthing system they use inside the box with the existing plastic connectors. Plastic MAY be a requirement if they've kept the pin earths isolated from the chassis and box (not necessarily a bad thing in a stage box which can have goodness-knows-what other earths accidentally touch it). On the other hand, if the pins and chassis are connected (as commonly happens) then go for it. Bob
Bryson
Thanks Bobbsy. I'm actually allergic to sound, so I hadn't checked that..... Will do!
Chappie
If you specifically need non-latching recepticles, its very easy to remove the latches on the standard Neutrik connectors. Stick a small screwdriver under the latch and lift, pull out the button and then remove the other part of the mechanism with a pair of pliers. Takes just a few seconds per connector. rooftop
The Neutrik p/n is NC33FPP, a bit elusive in the Neutrik catalogue but CPC have them
