daoops Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 Probably the wrong place to ask about this, but.. I have a blanket that is going to fall down from the truss. I have seen some sort of magnetic controlled devices controlled via the DMX.Who make theese devices and what is it called
Brian Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 I know that Flints do a solenoid designed for dropping things, Flints, not sure if they have one with DMX. You could always run it off a dimmer channel or a DMX switchpack.
Tom Baldwin Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 Hawthorn Theatrical hire a solenoid drop for £10 a week; they also do kabuki bars (not electromagnetic) for £20 p/w. I'm sure I've seen an electromagnetic kabuki drop somewhere, but can't remember where. Might be worth contacting Halls (Chas? Chas, are you there?) Tom
Jivemaster Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 Kabuki hangers from S+H ( www.starcloth.c ......) May be out of spec for DMX, perhaps should be hard wired
wilf Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 Or you could try this http://www.artisticlicence.com/item118.htmmay be a bit ott though
ianl Posted January 26, 2004 Posted January 26, 2004 isn't a DMX controlled blanket drop dangerous and outside the spec of DMX.without error correction a small amount of electrical noise could release the blanket earlier than expected and smother someone (or it could land on your DMX flame cannon and then where would you be!)
trussmonkey Posted January 27, 2004 Posted January 27, 2004 I have used with great sucess on the darkess tours the kabooki solanoid system supplied by acre jean. ring them up and ask for Colin Hannah
