johnhuson
Look closely at the render... Yes I have and I must be missing something, just because the truss in the render is a different way up to the real image doesn't mean it's wrong. Could be different makes of truss between the visualisation and the realisation. That is unless your refering to the MSD renders, in which case that is quite clearly hung wrong. Bryson
I think the point was, John, that virtually everything else was exactly the same. Amazingly so, in fact. I've never seen a render bear so much relation to the end product. It was a slightly tongue in cheek reference to just how similar it was.

Sam_Lowers
what do people think of wysiwyg educational software? I saw that vivin do it as well - they tried to make me buy it at plasa 2006. I would show some of my renders bu dont know how to put them on that page - bit stupid I know but im not great with computers if you check this link I have found one of my renders online on the wysiwyg render competition http://www.castgroupinc.com/downloads/News.../dec06/p44.html
merlin24
what do people think of wysiwyg educational software? Wysiwyg Educational software is identical to its mainstream counterparts. The only difference being it has the Educational logo in the bottom left hand corner of renders and plots. There is no year subscription included when buying educational products. I saw that vivin do it as well - they tried to make me buy it at plasa 2006. Vivien is a different kettle of fish. It is designed more for the corporate market, with more attention being placed with room layout functions rather than lighting. 1 generic fixture type covers all types of generics and the same goes for moving lights and truss. The idea being that the vivien drawing is imported into Wysiwyg for the lighting design to happen using the correct fixtures. By the way I'm sure they didn't try and "make" you purchase the product... :D RegardsAndy.

JDP
Sorry to bring an old topic up. I am wondering if anyone can tell me what I am limited to if I just buy Vectorworks and not Renderworks? Will I still be able to do the visuals in Vectorworks without Renderworks? Is there any particular reason TO buy Renderworks?

paulears
Moderation: The point was made that this topic is for sowing renders, so I've moved all the topics about the pros and cons of visualisation to this topic.

You need render works to be able to render with any quality, light, shadow, lit beams ect.... I would recommend it if you can afford it.
