  1. Thanks Paul, I know that commercial property prices vary significantly across the country but it sounds like it's not too dissimilar to what I'm paying per m2. But my unit's totally full with no way of using it to generate income so it's a significant ongoing cost just to store kit that's not earning a penny. My work has currently disappeared but I've got a decent cushion and am keeping the running costs as low as possible so I'm not concerned financially and the government help is being gratefully received. However I suspect it'll take quite a while to pick up again, and as the majority of my work is lighting for big private parties in marquees etc I'm not expecting any significant new bookings for that type of gig until next year as I don't foresee customers booking something like that until they've got the assurance that they'll be able to hold an event without distancing or any risk of it getting cancelled. So I'm looking to push the exterior lighting side of things. There's plenty of old equipment I could sell but none of it was worth that much before CV19, and ebay prices have tumbled over the last few years so I'd more be doing it to free up space than for turnover. As for buying from ebay, well I'm trying to minimise that too!
  2. Paul, you've told us roughly what it'll cost you to rent this place but any idea what sort of floor area it is, purely out of interest?
  3. Likewise, applied easily last week, very simple process and money in my account today. It may not be a huge amount and of course HMRC will get a third back in tax and NI but I'm very grateful to get anything at all. No idea if I'll have any more work this year though so I'm trying to keep the costs down!
  4. Hello all, I'm in the same position as Brian was last year (although trying to be more of a skinflint, setting a target price of no more than £100 per unit). Looking at around 30 exterior LED pars. I've not yet done any serious shopping around, but a quick Google brings this up as looking the best value so far My link Any more suggestions? Thanks...
  5. I've evidently got quite a lot of hens teeth then... Uriahdemon - PM sent. Mark
  6. Any reason you can't just swap them for 50w halogens as Showtec fitted as standard in the MK2?
  7. Are you looking for LED replacements for the LED version or looking to replace the 75w halogen ones with LED equivalents?
  8. 4 things I wish they made... Smaller Ceeform style plugs, connectors and splitters (I'm primarily talking about 16a single phase). Because I frequently find them just too big and ugly. A cheap fixing that's much quicker than a M10 machine screw (bolt) and wingnut. Something like the quarter turn fasteners that hold your Omega clamps to your movers, mainly as I've got lots of fixtures that hung or floor mounted on different jobs, and I'm constantly wasting time swapping hook clamps for floor bases or half couplers or just putting hook clamps on to kit that I've not got the room to store or transport with clamps attached. Sure something must exist in mass productions somewhere, I just don't know the thing! White roundslings. For use in marquees. IP rated PAR36 fixtures. For picking out architectural features etc.
  9. You sent me a message about stepper motor driver chips but I can't reply to it so can you check your messages please? Thanks, Mark Townend
