  1. Was it error 06032? The service manual talks about that error on page 44 (PDF page 52) - https://www.theatrecrafts.com/archive/documents/ld90servicemanual.pdf
  2. Hi Chris, Drop Darren & Ryan an email - they're our UK-based VL Service Technicians and will help in any way they can. darren.howard@signify.com ryan.parkin@signify.com Jon

  6. Eaton left the lighting business, selling it to Signify back in early 2020, sorry.
  7. I think if fixtures are in a grid-like formation, I’d be more likely to think in terms of the light’s position relevant to my current perspective (SR-SL, DS-US) than the specific physical fixture. Therefore, I would number them from the perspective of each console.
  8. Every so often I meet up with Peter Brooks (Z88 founder, original PLASA Chairman) for a beer, and he dug out a selection of old tshirts.... oldest is about 27 years, but I'm sure there are much older ones out there.
  9. Makes perfect (and obvious) sense, I’ve just never thought about it before.
  10. Congratulations @Rob Halliday and team for putting this stand together so well - it was really special to have the opportunity to program and run an Artisan with a VL2 & VL4. One of the revelations was realising every key was backlit by its own incandescent lamp...
  11. Worth noting that some of these are available on our website: vari-lite.com/global/products/300-series-console vari-lite.com/global/products/500-series-console vari-lite.com/global/products/light-palette vari-lite.com/global/products/GSX-LBX Without having the files themselves, it's not so easy to cross-reference the differences in descriptions to know what is included / missing / older / newer.

  14. Yes, ZerOS (the software on FLX & FLX S) has this feature built in to the console. You can say (for example) "I want a 9 channel fixture, where channels 3 & 4 are Pan and Tilt and channel 6, 7 & 8 are RGB", and ZerOS will return all the fixtures in ZerOS Library that match this. If you find a fixture that's close but not quite right, you can then edit this fixture before patching it. More info on dealing with "missing" fixtures in ZerOS here: https://www.zero88.com/manuals/zeros/patching/add-fixtures/missing-fixtures
  15. If only there was a better way...
  16. On the FLX range, a fixture limit is in place where the console is primarily fader based (e.g., FLX S) and not where the console is primarily syntax based (e.g., FLX). On FLX S, the fixture limit is based on twice the number of faders (so 48 on FLX S24, and 96 on FLX S48) and are controlled by a "Page" button. We deliberately chose two pages so a fixture is always only a single button press away... more than two pages would mean scrolling through multiple pages.
  17. Not great quality photos, but something like this? If so, I can take some better quality photos for you from different angles.

    RDM - RECALL

ZerOS based consoles, and "Phantom ZerOS" (PC based software, licence key needed) can do this using "RigSync" (over Art-Net). Setup the rig how you want, discover it all in ZerOS, and then there's a "Revert Rig" option to revert everything back to how it was when it was first discovered.
  19. Front panel wise, nothing has been taken from Strand Neo… in fact there’s arguably more in common with FLX in terms of the Cherry MX keys, Fader Caps, paging U/I, industrial design and labelling. Internally, while one or two smaller PCBAs have been reused, most - including the motherboard - are all-new designs. Software is Neo (but a new v4.0 version) and so showfiles are compatible and the user experience will feel familiar, but refreshed and refined. Jon
  20. Our launch event is on October 18th, which will be available to watch on Facebook and YouTube at 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 1am AWST (sorry @Don Allen!). After the event, if there’s any questions, please add them below and I'll answer them.
  21. Worth adding that, on FLX S, you could achieve something similar using "Effects" rather than "Chases" - where Cue 1 (on any playback) is a slower intensity effect and Cue 2 (on the same playback) is a faster intensity effect - with the flash button acting as a "Go" button, rotating through these two (or more) cues.
  22. Announcement supplied by: Jon Hole Software release: v.7.13 Release date: 31/08/2022 Link: zero88.com/zeros Hardware: FLX & FLX S, ZerOS Server, Solution Series, SCD Server (& Pro), ORB Series, and Leap Frog 48 & 96 Features: ZerOS Fixture Creator & Editor Pinned Fixture Manufacturers & Types Improved Fixture Search GDTF (General Device Type Format) support ZerOS Library 3.3 Various enhancements and bug fixes
  23. My experience is much more responsive than with an App / HomeKit etc, but not quite as responsive as a standard DMX fixture. We’ve run effects (rainbows, blue sparkles, chases, etc). If fading all on/off together you can’t tell any issues, but if snapping them all on/off together, you can tell the timing isn’t perfectly sync’d.
  24. Yes, Zero 88's FLX S, FLX and ZerOS Server can now control Philips Hue lamps and smart plugs, which are inexpensive, easy to setup and readily accessable via online and highstreet stores. (Note: I am employed by Signify, who own both Zero 88 and Hue)
