  3. Thanks Ian... it's been a long time since using a 520, and I've never done an unlock... but I've asked around the offices and I've found someone with the utility! Bill no longer works for Strand, he left before I joined.
  4. We should be able to help out here. Please PM me the 18 digit serial number of the console (from what I can see, PRESS REPORT and this should display the serial number. Alternatively, I think it's in the configuration).
  5. You mean you've 3D printed the save icon?! 😉

  7. There's a possibility that the White channel is defaulted to "0" rather than "255". Select the fixture, press "Colour" (which will show RGB on the wheels), and then press "Colour" again, which should then display "White" on the wheels. Using these four wheels, create a colour you're happy with, and then you can record it as a Colour Palette.
  8. Hi all, Your combined detective work seems to have filled in most of the picture! In 2016, Philips split off it's Lighting Divison (including Strand, Vari-Lite, ColorKintetics, Hue, etc). In 2018, this new company was renamed "Signify" - https://www.signify.com/global/our-company/news/press-releases/2018/20180516-philips-lighting-is-now-signify. In 2019, Eaton announced a similar move, splitting off it's Lighting Divison (including Zero 88, iLight, etc). This was purchased by Signify. So Strand, Vari-Lite and Zero 88 are now one buisness - a management team, R&D team, sales & marketing team, support team, etc fully focused on the Entertainment Industry. Hope this clears things up?!
  9. You can either use the keyboard shortcuts, or you can right click a button to hold it (right click it again to release it)
  10. Now might be a good time to add that today we've made access to our tech team even more available to you than normal! Feel free to book a 20 minute session to chat through your thoughts and concerns - and we'll be able to sort those fixture files out for you at the same time! 11. In the UK there are three console manufactures - two who build everything in the UK, one that partly manufactures in the UK. Expand to Europe and you can add several other manufactures. Include the likes of America and Australia and you add even more. Not one of them sells a personality-based console for even slightly close to that price... for one simple reason - that’s not how much it costs to build a lighting console. If you want support, software updates, new personalities, reliability, warranty, training, documentation, CE compliance, a phone number to call, spare parts, cyber security, quality control, etc etc, it’s just not possible at that price point.
  12. I believe one of our sales team has arranged to visit Phil later this week, thanks for the recommendation ?
  13. You used to be able to transfer the licence between a computer (so you could use any dongle) and the dongle (so you can use any computer).

  19. Actually, they aren't. There are three people on our own forum, and one of them is you. On this thread there is one person who has asked how to do it, and hasn't commented further. This isn't "designed to fit on a floppy". It's designed to include just the data that those consoles require to operate. Our higher end consoles require much more information, and so there's a separate file for those. Really? I don't think our answer has ever been fix it yourself. I think it's that we've made software available to allow even our longest customers, with very old lighting consoles, to make use of our latest fixture library. No, it doesn't. The console was released in 2001. The very last console was built in 2007, but production had been significantly ramped down by that point. This fits in perfectly with the dates I mentioned. This is just a library with very limited data - our full library's file size is well over 10 times larger.
  20. Hi Alister, We deal with customers in this situation almost daily. It's very rare that it can't be sorted after a phone call or an email to an IT administrator (who in the vast majority of circumstances is just down the corridor). It's not always quick, but if I was in the situation of receiving touring shows and groups regularly, I would be getting the software installed in advanced, so it was ready for that last-minute situation. (Please remember... I work for a company with over 100,000 employees. For IT support, I have to phone a third party company who will then "raise a ticket" to get my issue fixed... I've been there, I've felt the pain, but you power through and make it work).
  21. Just because we've updated our library doesn't mean the past libraries our users already have now don't work? It just means we now support a larger number of fixtures from a greater range of manufactures. If users are happy they don't need these new fixtures, they just keep with the version they have. And as we move forward, the access you need will be for new fixtures, not for old fixtures, so we still have a problem. We're currently looking at a major upgrade of our library which will over triple the number of fixtures we're going to support. That would mean splitting the library across six separate floppy disks. There becomes a point where you have to just admit that Floppy Disk is no longer a suitable tool for distributing software. Apple made their first computer without Floppy Disk in 1998. Dell announced they were going to stop using them in 2003. PC World stopped selling them in 2007. Sony discontinued manufacturing and support in 2010. It's now 2014 and we're still supporting the use of floppy disks, we're just saying "Look guys, this isn't so easy any more..."
  22. Tom, which fixtures do you require and I will create the file for you...
  23. Correct :-) Where did you get the 343KB file from? That sounds like it was probably a custom fixture, rather than a library. Tom, I'm sorry that you feel like this. We gave you quite a length reply answering all your points on that thread. Please remember just how old this console is, and just how long ago we discontinued it, yet we've still created a solution for you to have the latest fixture files. Unfortunately it does require you to run on a Windows computer at this time. We've also had to change how our Fixture Library is created, as these old consoles only supported up to 128 fixtures per manufacture, which several manufactures have now exceded. We seem to be in a catch 22 where customers complain if we don't have the latest profiles, but people also complain our library is too large?! We hoped our solution would support customers who had bought ANY Zero 88 console with fixture support, no matter of it's age, to continue the Customer Support we're famous for and our end users expect from us.

  25. Hi Peter, After July, would you be willing to let us know how you get on, and we could create a knowledgebase article or forum post on the Zero 88 website to help out other users in the same situation? Best regards,
