I posted a "fix" for a Mac 250 with a similar error, the wireing (running in temp protective sleeve) behind the lamp had become brittle and disintergreated. The wires connect to a thermal switch, which I think detecta a "true hot" condition. I replaced the wires and sleeve. All good.

Just an update to this. I bought the ebay one linked above and it fitted perfectly. It took a week or so to arrive, but I now have all 12 channels working again. Thanks again, Blue-room expertise triumphs again.

I use an ancient ECS Apollo JDR 12ch dimmer rack that is missing one of the bayonet type fuse carriers,(30mm x6mm fuse) I've tried a few similar looking fuse carriers, but they dont fit maybe I need an "imperial" one? Any ideas before I start taking the dimmer apart to replace the whole fuse assemby (of course, the rack is screwed to the wall in the darkest most inacessable place)

I would test as for an extension lead, as well as checking physical condition.

I'm unfamiliar with these units, but I had a "HOT" error on some Mac250s that turned out to be heat damaged wire behind the lamp. IIRC itthere was a thermo switch, but the wireing had crumbled to nothing.

No simultaneous Tx/Rx, and I havent tried it with other BT devices nearby, but I was suprised that it connected to my headphones so easily as they dont have a "pair" button.

I struggle with hearing loss and tinitus. some age related and some brought on with an infection. Wearing a headset and trying to listen to a show and block out people talking in the tuck shop behind me is awful. I dont have BT equipped HAs, but might enquire if I can get an upgrade next assessment. I built a UK101. 6502 microprocesor running at 1MHz( could be persuaded to run at 2MHz). 1KByte of ram (expandable to 8K on board) 2K Byte of Video RAM.... Around 2,000 solder joints IIRC.

I was an avid ETI reader, also Everyday E and ocasionaly Elektor.. I didnt have a lot of disposable income, so built alimited number of projects, Did BSc in electronics at Uni, but got sidetracked in to computers... PET, TRS80, UK101... Really miss Maplin, perfect place to pick up some bits on a Sunday afternoon.

I'll leave it to someone with more experience to sugest a better way, but I dont think the linked device will work. There is a huge difference in signal levels between a dynamic moving coil microphone and the output of a mixingdesk. I'm pretty sure the desk would swamp the transmitter even with the gain turned way down.

I helped with avery amateur production some years ago, Like your idea the arrow was mimed at the bow, the target arrow was concealed behind the target and pushed forward (by elastic) through the target when required.

Thanks, Folks. I've put together a fairly comprehensive (electronic and hard copy)document for our stage, but I'm sure there is lots of info I've overlooked. Inevitably it will be a disaster, though probably not until after our current Headmaster leaves. The powers that be don't realise that every show/event is different and the odd hour I spent after hours setting up a preset on the desk, changing a lamp or shifting a fixture is now going to cost them an arm and a leg for an outsider to sort. I'm a full time hours Physics technician in a school (32years come September). Students and teachers are just back from Easter break (I have been "in" most of the holiday). For a fair few years I've also been "Head of Lighting" working with students on the technical side of theater. Working weekends and evenings as needed. School have now decided that they can rent out the theater space to dance groups and ADS groups without regard to who is operating the equipment, what scenery is already on the stage... or how close to school productions they are. I have pointed out how crazy this is, and..... been told I can get overtime for working with outsiders.. No thank you. I feel the role has expanded beyond what hours I can add on to my full time job, my hearing is deteriorating so I'm stepping down and running for the fire exits... Ive shown two chaps around, who I'm told will be operating sound and light for the external groups, No-one has been appointed to replace me or continue working with the students. We have a School show coming up.... end of June.... Drama teacher doesn't know who to approach re microphone/lighting hire, sound/lighting design, technician rehearsal availability etc. Is it wrong to sit back and say "I told you so"? It feels like I'm letting the students down! Grrr. Grrr. Grrr.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I use a Dazzle interface with AVS4you. I cant open their site from work, but I think I paid £50ish 7 or 8 years ago. The software seems simple to use, records, edits and converts between formats. As well as video the package has programs for editing and converting audio/images/documents.

Oh nice. I showed some of our stage crew DMX signals on a Picoscope (computer oscilloscope) I thought it was interesting, they not so much. The trace showed a bit of noise (mostly due to my dodgy wiring), but I explained how the noise could cause weird effects and why using DMX to trigger pyro requires careful consideration.

Its a while since I worked with I2C devices, but I seem to recall each I2C sensors having a specific address (so that multiple sensors can be read over the same bus.) From the data sheet it looks like there are 3 pins on the AD7416 that configure part of the address, but maybe your replacement chip is different. T

Have you tried the analogue output? there is a 15pin D socket on the back that replicates ch 1 to 12 and the "special 1 and 2" keys. I think its 0 to 10V output so a simple LED with a 1Kohm resistor should at least show the desk is doing something.

I use paraffin for removing sticky Gaffa tape residue from cables. Smells a bit, but does the job.
