  1. Ok - I have read a fair bit of the documentation on the ETC website but I’m at a loss in some ways as I understand OSC sending commands, but this time I need to send MSC since OSC is already in use for another machine … anyway I need the ETC ion Xe desk to fire the MSC command: “Control Change, Channel 1, Value 12” But only from certain Cues on the Ion can anyone point me in the right direction on what I need to set up and how to code it… I know OSC to trigger QLab but as said I have this in use and so need to use MSC to send to a different machine running the sound desk…
  2. It’s sort of idle curiousness - we’ve got a show in atm and at the end of the tech/dress both mine and the sound op ears were aching … but the director said that you need volume to drive the show … my mind says that volume isn’t the answer, as you want the audience to be comfortable and enjoy the show … yes a small bit of volume is needed to make it fun, but overly loud spoils it as it’s uncomfortable - my opinion anyway.
  3. Possibly a strange ask - but in the uk, what is the approximate average volume level in db in the auditorium during a musical show (not a drama show)?
  4. Fair point…. Though they will probably want to sell the entire PCB its mounted on. Forgive me for overlooking the obvious though of finding a service department - ** laughs out loud **
  5. I know this is an old topic, but relates to my post last night …. Could someone send me a copy of the user manual for these scrollers as I now own about 8 and would like to know how to build their gel-strings, tension and calibration. Many thanks
  6. Hi all, I have a Yamaha P5000S amplifier whereby someone has managed to snap the volume control potentiometer. I’ve opened it up and found that it’s a 5k ohm potentiometer with 31 steps to the rotation … but I’m struggling to find a replacement potentiometer that matches. … For the time being, I’ve been able to turn the broken control up to Max volume, so at least the amp can be used, but It would be nice to be able to put it back into normal service…. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can buy a replacement potentiometer? (Links would be even more helpful) Worst case, I guess swap both potentiometers for new ‘non-stepped’ ones, and at that point I would need to know are they Logarithmic, or Linear tracks?
  7. Hi, I’ve browsed the forums and see that someone else has asked the same question regarding gel-stream scrollers and there was an offer of sharing the manual for them but this doesn’t seem to have been made available publicly… is it possible that I could get a copy of the manual for these too? I now own a set, and I have used scrollers in the past, but these are different to what I’m used to, and so any help on setting them up (gel length / tensioning / calibrating) would be most appreciated. many thanks in advance
