Bryson
Apparently a factor that's slowing the clear-up is that the truss is also full of pyro devices of various kinds. Just for extra added fun, as it were. I also spotted a story on Lightnetwork which (if it's true) is amazing. According to the post, one of the production riggers was on the truss when it came down. It came down slowly enough for him to jump off at the bottom when it touched down. (And then, presumably, run like crazy...) Anyone got any sources that could confirm or deny that one? Sounds a little too good to be true, sadly.
Tom
Surely the pyros weren't loaded though.
Bryson
Surely the pyros weren't loaded though. Why not?
Tom
In case something unthinkable happened like, I don't know, the truss fell down! I've always thought that you should load pyro at the last possible moment.
Bryson
But would it not be a toss-up between the rsik of the truss falling down/whatever or the risk of having to handle Pyros at height? Not sure about which is worse. Perhaps some kind Pyro type can enlighten us?
smeggie
would have thought that they were safe as long as they weren't connected to the power/launcher box of tricks. if they work in the same way as I understand the ones I have used, they are triggered by a set level of voltage across the pins that arcs and ignites the primer/pod. [warning, I'm not a pyro pro so what I say may be rubbish] cheersandrew
peter
I hadn't quite appreciated just how many fixtures were in the rig until I looked at this picture - it looks like there are 3 HOG IIs - thats one HELL of a rig to fall down.
Bryson
The other two could be expansion wings. But still...
Shaun Foster
As this has been mentioned recently, does anyone know if they found out the cause of this accident, and how much it cost etc...?
