Inflation on new LX equipment (especially mirrorballs!)

I can afford them, that's not the issue, it's just that I'd prefer to not pay 4 times what I paid previously. Clearly I've reached that age...

I've only looked at list prices, not got any proper quotes yet. I don't use more than 2 at a time often enough to really justify replacing them, I'll have to get them out earning their keep!

Was only a rough calculation to get a ballpark figure for the actual shipping cost per unit, I know an importer will have all sorts of things rammed in a box to make it worth their while.

I suspect the problem with used mirrorballs is that most are mashed, given how fragile they are. 

If the cost of carriage keeps up, there will come a point where UK-based manufacture becomes feasible again. Who wants a full-time job sticking facets onto mirrorballs?

Not me, I made 2 back into the 70's, cutting mirror and sticking on plastic lampshades with double sided tape. I didn't ever finish the second.

Both had plenty of use though well into the 90's.
