Martin Magnum 850

I have a Magnum remote that is missing R2. There is no component value marked, does anyone have any ideas?

I have a schematic for the Technofog / 800 but the remote section doesn't have an R2 as the numbering starts on the machine main board. Often these products didn't fundamentally change a great deal over the years, so it's possible that the schematic I have has something useful on it. Is it a timer or just a Go button?

 

What is R2 doing?

I haven’t got the remote with me as I am off campus, but I think it either forms a potential divider with R1, or it is some sort of fusible link.

Should it have an "R2" ? If one was fitted and removed then maybe it should, if the pads have never seen solder maybe that silk screening also suits another remote for something else.

Yes I think Graeme's point was that the original post does not clearly identify which machine it is, and there are a number of different versions of the remote.

Have you tried ringing up Jem/Martin Manufacturing, if it is the newer unit with the RJ45 plug the people who designed it are still there and will know the answer, if you can get to talk to them. 01507 604399
