Studio100
Hi, I have a Datavideo SE650 vision mixer and need to add a PowerPoint presentation into the mix. Is there any way of doing this without losing one of the camera inputs? Brian
timsabre
Not without adding additional hardware. You could use some type of HDMI switcher to switch one of the cam inputs over to the Powerpoint computer while the output is showing another camera. Obviously if you switch while that input is live you will get bad picture disturbance. Or if you need to be able to switch it live you could use a proper frame synchronising switcher like one of the Barco ones.
Dave m
You might get away with an hdmi basic switcher. Afaik the se650 uses a frame store to synch so might not "wobble" if the hdmi is switched off screenIf you have all the bits, a £20 switch might work
timsabre
Thinking more, you would almost certainly need some sort of EDID emulator device too or the computer will see its external monitor appearing and disappearing as you do the switch, which will not make powerpoint at all happy.
