In Line Mic Mute Switch With LED

Can anyone point me in the direction of an in line mic mute switch, with LED (Balanced) or a circuit for building one please?.

Small and easy to mount and readily available in the UK would be good.

I am aware of the Rolls, Orchid, Audio Technica and JTS mic base offerings.

I want something that can be mounted on the side of lectern or similar ideally with toggle switch rather than a foot switch or similar

and not in a clunky box.

I have used search but to not much avail.

Many Thanks

I remember simple XLR in-line switches sold under Eagle & other brand names. The mute switch on a mic merely shorts the 2 legs together, so not a difficult DIY project. If you want a "muted" LED you could use a 2P2W switch to feed the LED from your phantom volts via a resistor, chosen to give a current of say 2mA.

Would you consider something like an optogate? http://www.optogate.com/pb07_uk.html

Considerably more expensive, and it's been several years since I used one, but from what I remember they worked quite well for lectern mic mute/umute duties.

Edited to add that their PB-06 might be what you are looking for? http://www.optogate.com/pb06_uk.html
