DonkiDonki
I've had my trusty old leatherman supertool for years now and it has crossed my mind to see what else is out there and maybe try a change. The leatherman Crunch looks interesting. Which one do you prefer?
Modge
Wild card entry for SOG: Like this. They're not that popular here and they cost a fortune, but they're solid tools. You can access the knife without opening the tool, as you can with the better gerbers and the weird cutting thing comes in handy surprisingly often. The pliers are good and the entire thing feels very precisely made.
gyro_gearloose
I’ve got a SOG powerassist, and a Gerber. The SOG has a locking blade which can be opened with one hand, so be very careful about taking it out in public as the police won’t be impressed if they find it on you. The Gerber also has a locking blade, but it’s a two handed job to open it. Out of the two I prefer the Gerber as the SOG doesn’t have scissors, and the screwdriver snapped off the SOG as well. Don Allen
Leatherman Wave the scissors are still useful, have used everything in it, I have a black one.
gareth
Not going to recommend a specific tool, as they're very much a 'horses for courses' thing - but Leatherman provide some of the best customer service I've ever experienced.
ninjadingle
BIG vote towards Gerber for me - being able to access tools without opening it and the sprung pliers are winners for me, as well as one handed operation when you get the knack of it..... Mine's about 12 years old now and still going strong despite it getting a lot of abuse in all sorts of weather. No complaints!
Brian
Which one do you prefer? I prefer proper tools. I took my leatherman out of my day bag four years ago and have never regretted it. They are always the wrong tool for the wrong job. A decent set of tools is much more useful...
James Remo
I have a black one. I had a black one, but black on a black stage is a recipe for easily lost... I stick with the wingman, cheaper, all the bits you need, less likely to hurt when it invariably gets misplaced
