agermich
I'm looking to buy 10 JBL Control 1's, to put on a show. They don't need to be the Pro's, as the company already have some of the cheap Silver ones, which we need add to to cover the 10 which were borrowed last time the show went out. I remember the silver ones being really cheap in the past from Richer Sounds, but they don't seem to be very available any more. Does anyone have any leads for cheap control 1's? The cheapest that I have found so far are these black ones, but still not as cheap as the silver ones used to be: http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/301556/Passive-monitor-speaker-10-cm-4-JBL-Control-One-50-W-1-pair I haven't used Conrad Electronics before, are they reliable? Cheers Mike
sandall
Nothing's as cheap as it used to be :(, but if you are on a tight budget have a look at the Behringer clone - from £52 / pair, inc VAT.
phawthorne
I bought 4 from Maplin some time ago; they still have them at £79.99. http://www.maplin.co.uk/search?text=jbl+control&x=0&y=
Brian
I haven't used Conrad Electronics before, are they reliable? Yes. Also, Thomann have their own version if you just want cheap.
agermich
Thanks for the tips. Those Behringer ones might just do the job. Mike X
cedd
The Thomann Achat 104's are fantastic for the price! Very similar in footprint but they're a wooden cabinet. I also own a load of JBL Control 23's which are pretty similar in footprint and to my ears, sound a little better - worth adding to your list of things to be googling/ebaying for. Agree with this, plus they've got speakon connectors, which is handy.

Simon Lyall
Leisuretec have the control 1's on clearance, and the pro version at a very reasonable price. Simon
