revbobuk Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Interesting. MG have little more than an empty stand at NAMM2016, which has been their venue of choice in recent years for product announcements. It's pretty clear now that MG aren't going to bring anything new to NAMM. So either that's politics - reflecting an attempt to move away from the low end 'Music Industry' to the 'Pro-audio' - or it's pragmatic: we have nothing new to announce, we won't turn up. But I don't really see either of those making sense; there are plenty of other pro-audio firms with big names who do show at NAMM, and not everyone brings new stuff. People are likely to read all sorts of issues into their absence: is MG on the ropes? Is their a power struggle going on, or what? Speculations, anyone?
kerry davies Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 With 13 fairly major companies squeezed into a smaller stall than Ernie Ball strings one assumes it is nothing more than a flag-waving exercise. No doubt they will claim it on tax and may even be just having a presence to access grant funding. Stranger things happen.
