WiLL
I'm looking to hire a large wicker costume skip (preferably on wheels but not essential as I could put it on a dolly) for use in a production of thoroughly modern millie as a laundry cart, must have a lid, must be large enough to comfortably hold a cast member. Any ideas?I've tried the usual ebay searches.
w/robe
The only costume people who still occasionally use them that I know of are Torbay.
alistermorton
You could try calling wardrobe or props/furniture at the Miller Centre Theatre - we used just such a basket, on wheels in a Shakespeare production a couple of seasons ago.. It comfortably contained an actor playing Falstaff. I think we still have it. http://www.millercentretheatre.org/index.php/contacts The contact numbers are Wardrobe 01883 343944Props 020 8405 7955Furniture 020 8763 9343

empyfree
Universal Stars (star cloth people) use them for shipping their kit around the country. I'm sure they'd hire you one.
Bryson
Not sure if it's the case over there, but here the industrial laundry people who service hotels have loads of them. Shame really, I actually know if one you could have for free, but the shipping over 4000+ miles is a real killer.
/skn
I've just swapped some old flats for one - based just outside the M25 jct 18 or 20 if anyone so requires. He had a bigger/more plain one but wanted cash on top! It's approx 3foot x2x2 and can confirm the seller kindly demonstrated the ability to fit inside it! Has sturdy metal ring hinges and the locking mechanism I guess could be removed.
