sandall
B***er - I'd just resigned myself to waving an old friend goodbye (& even bought an EPM to replace it). Now it looks like I'm going to have to get the iron out again (& work out which of the caps might have been fried - the good & the suspect all measure the same with an ohm-meter & a 'scope, but I can't believe a 25v cap wouldn't feel some pain when hit with 40v). Anyone after a brand-new, never-been-gigged, EPM-8 (it's a bit late to take it back & say "I've changed my mind")?
Brian
Pretty much all Soundcraft mixers use the same PSU circuit...
sandall
Pretty much all Soundcraft mixers use the same PSU circuit... Thanks Brian - it's higher-res than the one I have.
boatman
Sadly, this desk has come back to haunt me. The main faders will have to be replaced. I have contacted Soundcraft and with a minimum order charge of £15 + £10 carriage + VAT it's going to cost £30 for two faders! Can anyone give me a CPC, Farnell, Rapid etc stock number for a pair of replacement faders that aren't going to melt the plastic in my wallet? Is it worth replacing all the faders whilst I've got it on the bench?
Andrew C
Can't remember which desk I was repairing, but Mouser hd the bits at sensible prices, and cheaper than [manufacturer] even with trans-atlantic carriage.
