Jivemaster
I've had good service in various simple tasks for the Maplin "USB Sound Box" (it's USB in, to minijack and optical audio output) It's always worked well for me and now it's being discontinued they are down to £5 -which seems cheap. Malcolm Gordon
I see that according to the QA - "Windows 7 support is not currently guaranteed on this unit unfortunately." Although not guaranteed, have you had any success on WS7 32/64 ?

Bobbsy
Funny mix of outputs...I can't think of anything I'd want to use minijack or optical outputs for. ...and I'm on Win 7 as well. I preferred XP but, as drivers and programmes and hardware march on...
Malcolm Gordon
Funny mix of outputs...I can't think of anything I'd want to use minijack or optical outputs for.I use the TOSlink output (combined with 3.5mm headphone socket) from my Sony Vaio laptop into an optical/RCA converter into a small mixer to provide total isolation from its very noisy switchmode PSU. I was thinking that the Maplin device would provide an alternative socket.
Jivemaster
Several DJs use this adaptor to cut out the annoying noises from laptops. It's not a full spec pro item but at £5 it's not at a full spec pro price.
