Ben99
I had a lighting desk's PSU fail recently. It was an old linear PSU, with a 24v 1amp output. I'm looking around for a replacement, but I don't know if a switch mode PSU would be ok, instead of (like-for-like) linear? My guess is it won't make any difference, but are there issues with the noise of switch mode PSUs in a theatre LX/sound environment? Thanks, Ben

DrV
Old Strand GSX... I knew this rang a bell - I replaced a PSU in one of these in 2008 according to my records and, on searching my Farnell file for the period I find that I used one of these. Hope that helps! Dave By the way, I also have a note in the GSX file that says the original was a UO02511240
Gerry
Switch mode power supply definitely OK.When I bought my GSX from USA it came with a 110V power supply so I bought a 240v switch mode from Ebay.CheersGerry
