david.elsbury Posted September 22, 2014 Share Posted September 22, 2014 Hi, I have a couple of Extron 506 switcher/scalers at work, and would like to remote the take button and possibly the preview source selection buttons also. The 506 has RS232 control, I am wanting a basic contact closure to RS232 interface. Any suggestions? Happy to make it myself, though basic modules must be out there. Maybe a RaspPi? DrV Posted September 23, 2014 Share Posted September 23, 2014 As an Arduinophile I'd suggest a couple of them even though that's a lot more oomph than you need. Rasp Pi would be even more overkill than that. If you are happy with stripboard then you could put the whole thing together including the RS232 driver in the same space as a Uno.
