Brian
As the poll asks... For equipment used in dim environments which do you find most legible? Thanks.
J Pearce
As the kit, wall, panel is often black I find white on black to be clearer. Some studies suggest that yellow on black is clearer still, as it creates less glare (hence yellow/black hazard signs).
whisky-zulu
Black text on yellow for me. Went through Uni with yellow paper and black pens and did find the glare significantly reduced compared to black/white combination.
itiba
Black text on yellow for me too... also find it 'pings' out when viewed under blues
paulears
What I want is a way to stop varifocals moving when you put your head over a piece of kit to read upside down - they flop upwards and any colour writing doesn't work because you can't focus! whisky-zulu
I had that issue when I was at Uni, Paul. I found that if I adjusted the nose pads and tightened the arms so they were closer to my face at the rim end, my glasses didn't fall off when I was looking upside down in racks, or under stages. boatman
I chose "Other" as yellow text on a blue background stands out best in the dark blues we use in our wings. Unfortunately it uses a lot of ink in the printer to make the Avery labels.
Andrew Edwards
Black text on yellow background would be a good choice for reasons already stated. It also has the added advantage of being the recommended combination for helping anchor words down for those with dyslexia.
Robin D
Black on yellow from preference, but white on blue is also very readable.
