kerry davies Posted October 29, 2013 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Just an update on the 30 day blitz on building site safety with unannounced visits by HSE inspectors. Rather disturbing figures showing that 1100 of the 2600 sites visited had some form of action like a verbal or written warning. More disturbing still is that over 20% of sites had immediate stop orders slapped on them for serious present dangers. One picture has several ladders wedged up with bits of wood from a sloping garage roof to the eaves of a house and another found a screwdriver in an Acrow prop holding up a joist. Just be aware that they seem to be getting less negotiable on things they find and, given the results of this exercise, who can blame them?
