IA76
Hi Can someone please tell me where you adjust the volume level of the tape out & USB out on this mixer? http://www.behringer...s/X1204USB.aspx (the manual is on this page as well) http://www.behringer...A0H_Top_XXL.png (image of mixer)
Shez
I believe those outputs just follow the master out so the master fader is your only adjustment. You can't change them independently of the main mix.
wallin6228
The Tape Out is wired in parallel to the main outs so it is controlled with the main mix faders and the same for the USB. Therefor no independent control of the output levels.
IA76
I just found this on the Behringer site but I'm not sure if it's relevant? TopicHow do I set up my USB compatible XENYX series mixer to record with computer software such as Audacity?SolutionConnect the USB connection from the mixer to your computer. You will need to select the 2TR/USB to CTRL ROOM button so that the computer output will be routed away from the main mix to the CTRL ROOM output. Do not press the 2TR/USB to MAIN button. You will want to connect the control room outputs to your power amp or powered speakers and control your monitoring level via the CTRL ROOM knob. You will be able to monitor through the speakers or the headphones.

You need to do this to prevent a loopback occurring if the computer echoes its line in signal back to the desk. The others are correct, the level is set by the master faders. It's basically just the 2tr/tape in/out sockets done over USB.
IA76
The volume level in the room is correct but the audio level going to the USB output is too low. What is the fix for this (please don't say bin the mixer!)
Richard P-W
1. Turn down your amps so you can run the desk hotter. or 2. Use the "normalise" facility in your audio recording software to boost the levels once recorded. What are you using the USB output for?
GR1
Change the gain structure so that the output of the desk is higher and the amplifier levels are lower.
MarkPAman
You could run the speakers from the control room output, but I suspect that'll just give you a new set of problems. Not being able to solo is one of them. Some recording software has gain on the inputs - if yours has, then check this is not turned down. Other than that, the best solution has already been given - Turn the amp down.
